My Roommate Recalls a Text Work… offers a portrait of an absent artwork and ultimately questions what the necessary conditions of existence are for an artwork. This is a portrait of both a fictive? artwork as well as a portrait of ‘artwork’ itself. Tension is exerted on ‘then’ and ‘now’, calling on hippie culture, which was emerging at the same time as the turn to linguistics in art.
