In the 1940s, George Bataille re-purposed the sign-language alphabet as a thesaurus for 26 synonyms for copulation and then anonymously distributed it in book stores along the Left Bank. This poster edition was sold through Mercer Union's 'Multiplier' fundraiser, and was preceded by a small variable edition of drawings, mailed anonymously, to different people.
